Daniel J. Sheill founded Trident Export Compliance after a 27 year career in federal law enforcement. For the last ten of those years, Dan was a Special Agent with the Counter-Proliferation Unit of Homeland Security Investigations in Detroit, MI. Dan conducted investigations of illegal exports involving complex legal, jurisdictional, and financial matters, and now utilizes the same skills to protect businesses from potential criminal and civil liability.
Dan also provides outreach and training to personnel in defense manufacturing, higher academia, and foreign government.
Dan is a graduate of the Criminal Investigator Training Program and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent Training Program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and retired from the Department of Homeland Security in 2019.
